Which PIAA bulb?

I'd like to upgrade my headlight bulb and was wondering which PIAA bulb to get - Super Plasma GT-X, Xtreme White Plus or Star White?

Also, should you retain the reflector hood thing, or discard it when using these bulbs?

I have had the Super Plasma GTX for about 3 years. Much better than the stock bulb.

Were they just a direct drop-in? Have you had any of the overloading or melting issues that I've seen in other threads? Or is that just B.S.? I kinda like the idea of a bluish tint because it really makes you stand out at night. Has it been the same bulb the entire 3 years?

Also, did you put the bulb shield thing back on, or leave it off?
