And a point I missed in my previous response to this post:

Where do you and your clan keep all this interchangeable cash that you use?

1) Do you go the bank or other financial institution and withdraw it from an account? (that signature card must be the size of a billboard)

or

2) Do you dig up mason jars full of cash previously buried in one or more backyards?

If the answer is #1 then you are indeed supporting those with YOUR money as they are making money on YOUR deposit thru loans and/or investsments.

If the answer is #2 then you are an idiot for not taking advantage of the opportunity to make money on your hard earned savings thru interest (even at the paltry rates they are currently paying)

My goodness, it's a viscious circle isn't it?

Bottom line, whatever works for you and your current financial situation.
Why couldn't everyone one be like that? Why wish? What is preventing anyone from choosing to save money and pay cash for the things they want?

YOU seem to be disagreeing, simply for the sake of disagreeing.

Financing a bike is suddenly okay now? If it allows you to save and pay cash for another? WTF is that!!!!!

How's about you give us a break with your bullshit already!

"Pay cash, everybody must pay cash!"
"Financing is okay, if you promise to pay cash next time".

Go screw yourself, Hypocrite. There are serious people here trying to have a logical discussion. No room for BS. (response to your insulting namecalling posts toward me in this thread). Throw rocks, some might come back at ya.

OK... I realize the whole "Pay cash" thing just feeds into your overall feelings of inadequacy. I can't help you there. However, a basic command of the English language would probably do wonders for making your life easier.

I *never* said financing a bike, or anything else, is not OK.
The topic was refinancing to save money on your bike.
I added that paying cash saves you even more money on your bike.
It's a simple, basic reality. It's not something you need to get your G string in a bunch over.

If you can get under 5% for a loan and pay it in under 5 years than that is reasonable.

I think I would hold on to the cash and invest it.

There is a dealer in my area offering 1.9 financing and the stock market is beating that.

If you can only get a real high finance rate than you should really think about the cost of the loan being worth it. Cash becomes king at that point.
Problem with that is that if the the market tanks and so does your retirement and savings invested in it, so does your ability to pay for it.

As others said.. if you can pay for it cash.. that way is done and nobody will be able to hold it over you.

financing is screwed up
