If it weren't for people financing, there wouldn't be a company named Harley Davidson. I'm glad for you if you pay cash, good for you, but don't come on here running your mouth against those that can't or choose not to, it's their life.
There's always a few of you guys that are so proud of your financial genius in these threads. You are GREAT !!! There, ego feel good now?

I guess I will fall into the finance category. I just don't have the time now at my age to save 20K for a bike or boat.

That money is going towards retirement savings.

If you can get under 5% for a loan and pay it in under 5 years than that is reasonable.

I think I would hold on to the cash and invest it.

There is a dealer in my area offering 1.9 financing and the stock market is beating that.

If you can only get a real high finance rate than you should really think about the cost of the loan being worth it. Cash becomes king at that point.

Seems that people have to post about being able to pay cash are just trying to show off. OP was telling people he saved some money and you all have to come on and wave your **** around like it don't stink. Not all Harley's are toys either. I had a Harley in college that was my only transportation.

I'm with you man. Tired of the braggers trying to belittle the normal people. Acting like you are stupid to finance, even though it gets you on a bike.

Pay cash for everything and then try to get a mortgage.

Refinancing to lower rate is smart. Paying cash for toys is smart. Financing what you can afford at a low rate yet preserving your cash is smart. Doing what you can to get through these times is smart.
Paying 22% for something is not.
There is a lot of in between...

I'm glad your so well off, it would be nice to be able to do that. But, Here in the real world, 99% of the inhabitants can't quite swing that. I've had great jobs all my life and can't do that!

I do however, wonder what type of business your in, that you can't understand that people finance cars, boats, motorcycles, you certainly can't be a businessman, cause "credit" is the lifeblood of any business, large or small.

I'll venture to say, if you have never financed any of these items, that would pretty much paint you, as a fortunate kid with a rich Daddy. Money don't just fall out of the sky!

Bingo on paying cash. Hold off on the first bike til you got the cash and then stay disiplined as you ride and pay yourself, then youll have the cash again when your ready for the next one. BUT.....we're in a I WANT IT NOW world.
