Hey if i was rich i would pay cash too.... But as a hard working american who is not rich I say
If I was rich... I'd be rich I guess.
Just another hard working American... with a saving's account and an odd ability to stick some money into it every month so I can pay cash when I want something like a bike.
Wow... Holier than thou much...
These are some people that don't know how the real worl works...
Not everybody has the means to pay 10 or 11 thosand cash for stuff....
Does that mean we shouldn't be allowed...
Alot of high horses around these parts!!
Oh and by the way... Maybe more of us could pay cash... If we wanted to.... But honestly, in the real world, cash reserve is more important...
I'd rather all day rent my bike for 150 bucks, than to pay outright....
I'd much rather have my money working for me... I pay weekly on my payments... To keep the interest down... And it is paid rightout of my bank, before I even see it....
So in actuality , in my real world.... My bike is basically free...
I never see the cash I use to pay for it... I never get a bill for it...
I put no money down!!!
I got a bike, 50 bucks a week slides out of my bank... I never see it, I never miss it... And nobody calls me asking for a payment.... Mean while, you lucky sperm kids scratched a check for 20,000 and lowered your net worth....
Don't seem the smartest to me???
Everytime I read the "I only pay cash" guys, I just want to say Shut Up. You are a minority these days.
However the OP is right. I've tried to refinance my bike, and most banks won't do this anymore. Once my credit score gets a little better, I'll look into a CU. Until then, I really don't care. I wanted a bike, I'll pay what I have to in order to enjoy my life RIDING WHILE I'M YOUNG. I don't want to wait till i'm 50 years old to do it.
Wow the instant gratification crowd is in a tizzy over this one.
Paying cash doesn't necessarily == rich. For many it means self discipline. Going without things like cable tv, weekly movies, etc.. while we sock away cash for things we consider important. In my case it took me about 4 years to save up for my latest (used) bike. Two great things about it is; it's mine not the bank's, and I paid the agreed price, not an extra 10-30 pct in interest and finance charges.
Some folks don't have the ability to plan for the future and the self discipline to save, so be it. But don't go nuts about people paying for things up front, because some of us can plan and save.
when i joined this forum back in 07 things it seemed things were alot nicer between members ... the biggest beef was trolls .... now coming back after a few yrs seems like there is a crowd of folks angry and itching to chew someones head off .. is it the GFC , Iraq , the new Prez ??? C'mon tell me why its a tough audience ? Geez someone says they prefer to use cash , and all of a sudden they are lucky sperm ??? narrow minded response imo

Then have the ability and self discipline to not get on here and crow about it while berating others for their choice of using consumer credit to purchase anything they desire.....wants or needs. They work to make the money so, as I see it, it is their prerogative to spend it in whatever fashion they see fit.
You don't wear walk in their shoes, so don't try to tell them which ones to buy, or how they should pay for them!!!

No where did I say "don't use credit". I said "don't assume people who don't use it are rich".

NO whine here dude. Just a bit tired of all the "net nannies" on here pokin' there nose in other folks business.
I don't recall seeing anywhere in the OPs first post where he was asking for advise on the financing of his motorcycle. He simply shared some information on a personal experience he thought might be useful to others. But, as usual, it didn't take long for the keyboard babysitters to chime in and offer their "I'm holier than thou" opinion on anyone who uses credit to buy anything. They can coexist on this forum without constantly being up on their soapboxes!!!
u can pay cash all u want i dont give a **** i finance cuz i can if i want to buy cash i can do that to. financing leaves me money so i can go to sturges, bike week, laughlin where ever i wanna go buy what ever i want for my bike. not ride around town all the time. and all my bikes are brand new not that used bikes are bad but i prefer new and i trade up every two years. just my 2 cents.
