Hey, Bald1der call Hotrodz over on Sycamore Dairy Road. They are very military friendly and I believe they have deployment storage that's cheaper than Cape Fear Harley.
Thanks for all the well wishes and advise folks. Now 1 more question. Cover or no cover. I've got an all weather cover I was thinking about putting on the bike after a good wash and wax, but was wondering if it would trap in moisture.
there shouldnt be any probs with the cover...I would check with Hotrodz. or cape fear HD.. if you store it there you could always have them do the mods while you are still in the big sand box...From one FT.Bragg vet to the other...." Stay safe and ..GIVE THEM HELL BRO.....
I was pretty worried about leaving my bike for 7 months in Hawaii but the fuel stabilizer, battery tender, and J&S jack treated me right.
I also sprayed like 10 cans of silicon spray on the bike to protect it from moisture. No weather cover was needed. My bike DID have some rust/corrosion on it when I came home...but it's Hawaii. Everything rusts there.
You know with the way Harley supports the military you might just check with your local dealer and see if they will store your bike while over there. They could get some good PR for their dealership by doing it. I know the shop I am associated with has a winter storage program and includes everything from charging, oil changes, other fluid changes and cleaning when you are ready to hit the road in spring time.
Yeah, my plan was to drop it off at the dealer for the engine mods and get the "storage" for free while they worked on the mods. Solved two problems. Good luck and stay safe.

Only problem with our local dealer, is that since this is a Big Military town If they offered free storage they probably wouldn't have any room to walk around. The way we roll out of here, they'd probably have a few hundred bikes in storage at any given time. Altough as some have pointed out, maybe if I can work in some engine mods, and services I might get free storage. Might be worth looking into. I'll also have to check out Hotrodz.
