Default Mini Apes '08 FXDC DONE!!!

Thanks to the many members who have inspired me to tackle this job myself. I couldn't have done it without y'all! Here's a couple of pics of the finished product. I added 3 and 1/2 inch straight risers. The difference in comfort and handling is unbelievable and I learned so much about my bike in the process. Well worth the effort! Again, can't thank y'all enough! Fred

Mini apes are 10", those look more like 12". Either that, or you have hi risers on there. They look good.

Bars are from a 2011 Street Bob. I did add 3 and 1/2 inch straight risers. Thanks!

Looks good !! Have a set out in the shed waiting to be installed. Did you have to change any of your cables? Glad it went well for you,I have read a couple of other threads where you was a little worried about it. Now its my turn to worry a bit...lol

Just had the parts guy at Hammond Harley get the bars, clutch, brake, throttle and idle cables for a 2011 Street Bob. The bars are stainless internal wired and fit with stock FXDC clamps. Got the 3 and a half inch risers from JP Cycle. The only snag I ran into was that I had to drill the switch housings to internal wire the turn signals, but if you relocate to the forks you can bypass this little issue. Also got the Novello 8 inch wire extension kit. Worked like a charm. I would not get anything shorter than the 8's. I did have to lengthen the turn signal wires and solder the connections, but not hard. This is just a time consuming job at worst. The best part is I learned so much doing it myself. "ajpointless" has a step by step that took away nearly all my anxiety about tackling the job myself. To say it was worth it is an understatement!
If you have any questions, I would be more than happy to help you in any way I can. I really owe it to the guys here that went before me and helped with their advice. DO IT!!! You won't regret it. Fred

P.S. If you need part numbers I can dig up the receipts.

Looks good. You ought to post a shot or two without the windshield.
It would make it easier to see for those thinking of using taller risers.
