Don't take my wise *** quips seriously please . My first trip down that way we crossed the state line and it wasn't 10 mins. this guy in a ragged old pickup comes hooking and waving like crazy behind me . Thinking something bad was wrong or I losing something off the bike I hit the center median strip and stopped the guy right behind me . Off the bike and back I go as he's getting out and asked what happened , grinning like crazy he says nothing as he digs a couple beers out of a cooler and hands me one . I'm a little off as we are in the middle of a 6 lane highway around 3 in the afternoon . Just wanted to welcome us to Texas the proper way was what the man said , it was different . Gotta love a Texan . Stood there a good 1/2 hr chatting and drinking beer in the middle of the road .
didn't take it seriously; spent around 13 years in SoCal and loved everything except the traffic; the beaches, weather, mountains, desert....on and on. Was there in the mid 70's to late 80's; the radical left wing crap didn't seem to have taken hold yet; maybe it was just living in San Diego County with the heavy military influence of Navy/Marine Corps.
Rain in SoCal this morning and about 50 degrees. Roads are now drying and the clouds are breaking up. If I wasn't at work I'd probably go riding. And no, I'm not on my lunch break. I'm listening to my voicemails messages. Nothing important yet.
