Do none of you own cars? I drove down to the MC show in Long Beach yesterday, and to my surprise it was well worth the trip. There seemed to be a lot more exhibitors than I remembered from past shows, including some that don't always show up, like Triumph and BMW, both of which had very large and very crowded displays. Harley's display was also well-populated, and both Ducati and Victory had very popular displays as well.
There were also many, many gear and accessory vendors, including Dianese, Shoei and others, but as far as I could tell there weren't many "fantastic" deals -- just some decent discounts, most of which you could also score online with a little research.
My only criticism was that the layout was a bit chaotic; there were no identifiable aisles so making sure you saw everything was a bit hit-or-miss.
All in all a worthwhile show -- which has become a bit of a rarity lately.
poor babies, you are probaly the ones who call the rest of us rubs because we don`t ride year around well back to your smog immuting cages, maybe the rain will help with your smog you ride in
Actually since the advent of catalytic converters (and cage smog checks) there isn't really much noticeable smog in LA anymore, at least not like there used to be in the 1970s. But it's more the topography than anything else that causes it here as even the Indian and Mexican ranchers that lived here in the 1800s called Los Angeles the Valley of the Smoke.
As for West vs East, I'll take being rain-bound out in the garage for week over being snow-bound out in the garage for six months (if you have heat in your garage, that is, LOL!)
Don't move to Oregon, it rains every day, *smirk*.
Make that "western Oregon" - Eastern Oregon (2/3 of the state) is dry, sunny country...most of the time...right now, it's 20 and snowing with a 20mph north wind. But it ain't rainin'.
Wish I had your weather problems as here (in Scotland) its (-c)you pick a number and thats what it is but rain, we get that in summer and sunshine is what you guys get most of the year and what we dream of..Oh the point rainsuits are a must anywhere in Europe but don't let it stop you, its only rain
30 years of riding and I've only been caught in the rain a few times. Even on some long trips I didn't hit rain. I know I've been lucky. Retirement in a few years might change this. I think I want to test some good rain gear before I retire.
On days like this I wash (outside) and detail (in the garage) my bike. If it weren't for days like today I'd have to take perfectly good riding time out of a nice sunny warm day to do it.
Very good point. I cleaned my garage today. I should've cleaned my Road King.
