I am going to test my hook up again. I did blow a fuse in the cord to my GPS. Having said that, my
auto charger for my phone seems to have worked just fine.
Well in and amongst everything else that has been mentioned.... If it worked prior to plugging it into the bike you may have blown the fuse in the "GPS cig adapter". Most if not all have a glass fuse in the plug. Unscrew it and dbl check that. If it's blown your wiring on the cig lighter is wrong. JMHO.

however, you can buy a usb "powercord " for your garmin at any electronics store (about 15bucks )
It is small and you can leave it on your bike ..
no bulky "cigarette lighter fixture....
I ran mine under the tank, and use suction cup mount on the inside of windshield..
Do wrap/tie the powercord around the suction cup mmount ,just in case it comes loose.
