My buddies had some too and put them in the palm of their gloves but I had a different idea: Since the main blood flow going to the hands is exposed on the top of your hand (look at the veins!), I dropped a packet in the top of my hand inside the glove and I was toasty all day. My buddies were all complaining about how cold their hands were and how dangerous it was to lose feeling - they tried this idea and it worked great for everyone. I don't ride frequently at 40 degrees or below, but this is my solution for my hands...
I used this technique during my skiing days. Works great! Rode when temps were single digits with no problems. Hands stayed nice and toasty.

Hippo Hands have been around for at least 30 years now, and they do work well from what I've been told. I know a guy who rides his harley 365 and he uses them in the winter. he swears by the things in the cold

When it drops down to the 20's and 30's here I just put on a pair of latex gloves then put on my leather riding gloves. Hands stay fairly warm.

A co-worker uses these things all winter. He doesn't wear any gloves under them.
Granted, it don't get below the low 50's here, but us warm blooded creatures still get cold in them temps.

I use silk glove liners under my thin leather gloves. My hands still get a bit cold but OK for my commute. I don't have any waterproof gloves, but it's useally warm when it rains.

Nice bike in the background, eh?

HAHA

My son was in Spokane this past weekend. Last night I walked outside in a T-shirt and came in saying how cold it was.
.... My son laughed and said 'is it 20?!?'

The picture looks like they're thin and won't cover the mirrors and handles?

@SportsterPapa...Land O'Lakes...MN...I grew up there...we were taught that cold was a state of mind...man up!...you shouldn't even be WEARING gloves haha!!! :-)

Seriously, I now live in MD...a couple weeks ago I started out in 31 degree weather, but by the time I crossed over South Mountain between Frederick & Hagerstown it was 25 degrees...first time in a long time that my fingers were numb...that made me think that I'll either have heated gloves or the heat packs ready in my saddle bags next year...

I took care of the cold neck situation today, found a **** head/neck cover at TJ Maxx for 7 bucks, next I gotta take care of my hands because those by far get the coldest of my body.
