Had rained all day and turned to snow after dark, we were miles from anywhere and no place to stop.

Couldn't see anything through goggles in the falling snow and was riding two up with the wife. Hit the rear brake lightly to stop and figure out where I was on the road at about 10 mph, bike slid out from under us in a heartbeat.

Picture was taken as she walked along the road while we tried to get four bikes to a gas station 1/2 mile away.

This one was at the gas station after waiting for the snow to stop for over an hour.

Nice picts and interesting story. Thanks for sharing the memories.

I'm with you on the no ice, but if it's above 40 degrees, I'm riding.

best way to drive on an icey drive is leave the bike in hibernation, and put the truck in 4 low, even then you get stuck and hit something sometimes..

I've ridden plenty of dirtbikes in the snow and ice before. Without studs it's pretty much impossible to do anything besides right in a straight line on ice, and that's usually with the benefit of having your feet down. Snow is no problem in comparison, it's a cakewalk compared to ice.

If it's possible I'd ride on your lawn to/from the main road instead of down your driveway.

I'd be willing to bet if he has a 1/4 mile long driveway, there's a pretty good chance he has a riding mower, and maybe even a flatbed trailer for it.

Joe,

Those photos gave me a chill. Stuck miles from home, snow moved in, dark, not seeing through foggy googles and a slow dump with the wife on board.

That's my worst nightmare. But then again I'm old and would have passed on taking that risk, that day.

I could say you got a "pair" on you to be out in it, but I think "Blueballs" from the freezin' *** cold comes to mind first.

Wicked story!
