schott is a fashion jacket really. i've heard of the felt liner on their HH jackets but never actually seen it. the poster says on his HH schott without the felt the jacket is flimsy and thin.
if you want a motorcycle jacket get a vanson, if you want a real expensive one get a lost worlds, if you want a real expensive one custom made get a langlitz. i don't think you'll be dissapointed with any of them.
you don't need horsehide, good cowhide will be plenty strong.
Clearly way over the Vanson choice for me but I am temporarily stuck on the Horsehide issue.
Dortiz, you got it bad! And now you're taking me with you: I called Dave at Langlitz and have received the measuring charts....dammit.
I've been checking the Aero products.....

I have had, Schott, Fox Creek, and a Leather Up jacket...
Leather up coats are garbage compared to Schott and Fox Creek. Anyone who says otherwise has never really owned or tried on a nice leather jacket.
The fox creek jacket was nice and I feel it's more of a "motorcycle only" jacket, everything about that jacket is made for riding. That said the sleeves were too wide for my arms and I could not get a snug fit when zipped close. Guy designing those sleeves must be a body builder or something....
The Schott jacket has a nicer finish, nicer leather , and works fine on the bike and off (if that's important to you -it was to me). There are no vents but I just crack the zipper open a bit and let the air flow.
For that much money I wanna be able to use the jacket on and off the bike, IMO, if you can do that with a Leather Up coat and be content...go for it.
Otherwise Schott.

Ok, Ok its almost over. The Fox Creek shows as arrived on UPS so it should be on my doorstep. Of course unless it amazes me I think it will go back tomorrow.
Here is sadly where I have ended up.
Lost World Horeshide and a Langlitz Goat Skin. Working on measurements.
Between those two there is absolutely no question to buy the schott jacket. But before you do anything there is another one to consider.
