Some are willing to deal a bit...I paid it...they gave me other breaks.free first service. They work with me on repairs and warranty claims very well....I think back now and it was a good trade off....specially when i hear of the other local dealers treating some other like **** when it came to some warranty claims...
I paid MSRP and freight but no set up. This was in '08 when Super Glides were coming into the dealer and selling within 2 weeks. I wanted the anniversary and they knew it. Will definitely shop around next time.
I dont have any problem with them making a profit. I assumed my offer was a $1000 profit for them. Im ok with that. I think the bike is worth it and has that value. I think the freight and setup is PURE eye gouge. I guess I will have to look else where.
These "what did you pay?" threads always amaze me how everyone got the deal of a lifetime and beat the Dealer down on price. Take my word for it, NONE of the Dealers LOST MONEY. If they did they would be out of business by now. Just sayin........
From what i have heard there is a gentlemen's agreement to not go below msrp. They often will waive freight/setup and throw in gift cards to offset this. This only applies to current model year bikes. Leftovers are free game. At least in my area. Hudson Valley NY.
