I got porked for both, but I had no choice. I called everyone in the state and Laconia HD was the only one with the color I wanted. So I had to pay. If I didn't care about the color I could have gotten a way better price.
Bought mine for 1k below msrp and they waived the freight and setup. I did get banged for approx $200 of bs "fees" when I went to pick up but at that point I had no leverage so I bought it and moved on.
I didn't even look at the break down of what I paid. I told the guy the I wanted to pay MSRP out the door.....no BS. After about 10 minutes, we agreed to $17,500 on a brand new 2011 Deluxe. The taxes in Crook....I mean Cook County IL ate 10%, so I figure the actual cost of the bike was around $16,125, which is good....I think, considering that it was built on August 8, 2011 and I bought it August 30th 2011.
on a leftover 10 I paid base price ($18,999) no freight, no set up, ABS and Cruise- no charge and a $500 gift card. On the identical 11 I would have had to pay for cruise and ABS and freight, no set up., no gift card. Nov. of this year.
Nope. I kept telling the HD dealers that I wasn't buying a "mail order HD kit" from WI. I was buying a whole bike from a local dealer--Never paid anyone to make ready a car so why do it on a bike. Two dealers finally offered to sell at sticker with no fees and $1000 in accessory cards. Guess I got lucky--but I was just not going to pay those fees.
Didn't call it freight and setup but Limited was a few hundred over MSRP. Guess thats what I get for buying a current year high demand bike. Dealer did throw in $500 gift card, 15% off any accessory I wanted at time of sale, first service and 4% loan to get the sale.

I bought my latest H-D out of state. I paid much less for the SHIPPING from Montana to Ohio than they are asking just for f&p on your FBL. I also paid no f&p on the bike. As others have said....look at other dealers. That seems awfully high.
