There is always the old tried and true 1/4 inch nut casually dropped from your bike since everyone knows "crap falls off of Harleys" . I usually just slow down and wave them past, If they're in that big a hurry to tailgate me, they'll do something else too. Let em go and good riddance

what really bad is at night , you slow way down on a passing zone and they still won't pass. Some people just like to tailgate

When I have a tailgater behind me, I increase the distance between me and the vehicle in front of me. You have to make sure that there is room for you and the ahole behind you to stop.

I just flash the brake lights a time or two, if that doesn't work I figure out a way to let them get in front of me. I don't think it is smart to try to deal with them, we're at too much of a disadvantage, and too vulnerable. Its not worth it. Let them go in front of you and tailgate somebody else, which they always do. Then I can go back to enjoying my ride. FIDO=Forget It, Drive On. Works for me.

I slow a bit and get over if nessessary. Better in front of me than behind. I like the FIDO message on the earlier reply. Azzhole cagers are just not worth dying for.

I just start screaming, spitting and waving my .357 in the air. They seem to disappear.

yeah, getting out of the way is the best thing to do.

while riding around this weekend i saw a few harleys traveling under the speed limit on the freeway with some 'tard in a car glued to their back fender. there was no traffic all weekend, so the person behind them should have just passed them in the next lane, but car drivers seem to get lazy or hypnotized or something and just sit behind a slow vehicle even when they have options.

granted, in the couple of cases i saw, the motorcycle was just about running at the slowest legal limit for the road, which is 45mph while traffic was running at around 70 to 75 mph average. noone is really right in that circumstance, the bike is going too slow and the cars are speeding, its bound to cause problems. speed up, and/or get out of the way. its safer, even if going slower _feels_ safer, being a rolling obsticle on the freeway isnt such a good idea.

Here is another one... this kit is $100 and is exhaust ignited, no need for extra fuel anywhere, just a coil a spark plug and a back-the-f*ck-off switch...

On two lane road I save a lot of heart burn by turning on my right signal, slowing and pulling to extreme right side of lane, if not on the shoulder. If necessary, I will almost stop. On the freeway I will just continually slow down till they either pass of fall off.
