Coming from another perspective...... I drive in traffic, all day, and I'm really getting tired of all these aholes driving around in traffic with their highbeams on. It's still blinding even during the day and because of that I have to look AWAY from that light. Knock it off. Highbeams are not meant to be used in dense traffic.
And that is why I use my low beams...and only use my highs if needed for extra warning..and that is usually just a flash or two.
Another one of those you do it your way I'll do it mine.My take is run the lows only because the highs bother people. The older you get the harder it is on the old lookers, especially at night. Those of you that do not understand, you will eventually.
Add a Modulator to the high beam and you get noticed big time.
I hate those goddamn modulators.....****ing irritating to see those coming at you....don't know if he's flashing you for a road hazard or giving you the right of way at an intersection or just what.

Yep....when I encounter a rider with bright lights my impression is "hey look at me, I'm a newb". I return the favor by throwing all the candlepower I have back at him.
You can have your brights on during the day and those inatentive 18 year old girls will still make a left hand turn in front of you. Ask me how I know.. Christmas eve, totaled bike, and 200 stitches to my face.
It's still better than nothing though.
