I have an 08 Nightrain and have done a few long rides with it. I'll get another bike down the road, probably a Street Glide, but for now, the Nightrain is a blast to ride.

I traded in my 04 Night Train for my 2011 Street Bob in November. It had 28K fun filled miles on it. Most of my miles are cruising around town along with searching out curves on back country roads. I am 6'1", 195, I was never uncomfortable on the Train and could have easily put on some serious highway miles. Road Kings are sweet, especially with apes. For me though, they are more for people who want to ride hundreds of miles in a straight line down a highway. That is not my style. The Train is much more versatile.

One day I'd like to have a Road King, but for now I'm very happy with my Night Train.

I have also owned both....I'm older now and like having the bags, hence the RK but if I was younger and not doing a lot of long distance touring, the NT is great for that. Can't go wrong either way though.

The Train is nice, but the ergos are not suited for touring.

I went Road King, personally. The ride is nicer and the touring frame handles better. However, if you're always riding solo, I'd buy the NT...especially if you've always wanted one.

You're a young guy, go with the Night Train. Road King always seemed like a grandpa machine to me.
