Engine Lights
While riding in L.A., during the Acadamy Awards, my two friends and I got pulled over because we were running with "Blue Lights" on our engines. I'm sure the officers were just fishing but I've ridden in Oregon and NEVER been hassled for them. I had a cop pull up next to me in Palm Springs, while the lights were on, not a problem. I asked him if I was going to get a ticket for the lights? He said, "I've got bigger things to worry about than your lights". Anyone have similar incidents with lights?

Different states have different laws of course, here in Florida I was told as long as I didn't have them in a flashing pattern (done with remote) it's ok. I went to white LED's on the bike I have now to avoid any hassle.

Like he said probably "fishing" for other things like drugs, guns that sort of thing. It gives them an excuse to pull you over, and there are always the exceptions to the rule which is why I said most...

A lot of states have specific laws about the colors you can show.
Usually red and blue are illegal because those are reserved for emergency vehicles.
Other state have laws about any display lights while the vehicle is in motion.

What are you complaining about? It's kind of a vanity thing that serves no actual function other than "Look at me!" Sounds like it worked as designed.

don't do it in alabama!!!! it's because they are distracting to other drivers. a friend of mine got stopped for the firefly valve stem lights on his model a hot rod. told to take them off or get a ticket. you would think you would be safer by being more visible.
