thanks to you all for advice.
intend to put it up front and will velcro/fasten controller somewhere/somehow to stop it wandering off .. am so glad I usually wear tightish leather jacket with HD rainjacket over the top (more for windproofing than rainproofing) so can feed cables between the two layers down my arms ..
all this just to keep our hands warm .. beginning to think all bikers are inherently barmy !
hi Edilgdaor
cool bike you have .. is that the Half dome at Yosemite I spy there in the distance? loved yosemite, my favourite park stateside so far :-)
looked for 'messages' option above that toolbar - nothing there but my username - like you suggest - maybe I don't have enough posts yet?! will try to find rules re;PM .. anyone else know rules?
hi Pat
so do u run cables from down the back of your jacket towards left side then out from bottom of your jacket over your left thigh, sitting the controller between your legs on the seat?
Billiejay, sorry I went riding this morning and just saw your post. I leave the wires in the front of my jacket and the controller is just below the bottom of my jacket, perfect place to have it when you need to adjust the temp. As far as it sliding off to the side or going someplace, hasn't happened yet!! BTW, all that excess wiring is bundled up and wiretied up in a clump with just a little excess to allow a bit of movement. I also didn't like not being able to see where the setting was on the controller **** so I got some of my daughters' white nail polish and painted the raised rib on the **** and then a coat of clear over it and now it is a lot easier to find the "comfortable spot"!!
I thought of that too .. was going to use liquid paper - do they call it that in the US? may bundle wires up though jacket pretty snug, especially if cold as wear extra layer.
if wires run down your chest, how do you get your jacket on? run them down your arms after you've put it on?
rode this morning eh? cool. where 'd u go? I'm visiting florida over easter .. can you recommend touristy things - any good gator parks around miami way?
Actually I lay the jacket on the ground or table and run the wires down the arms and them put on the jacket, I them just manuver them onto the front of my shoulders and let them hang down my chest as I zip up the jacket. As far as the ride today, About 45 miles locally that I normally do when I just want to get out for a while. Weather was perfect, mid 60's and sunny, jacket weather for us Floridians!! As far as riding in the Miami area, someone else is gonna have to help you with that one, perhaps one of the "Florida Crew"!! Ride safe!!
hi Edilgdaor

Well, actually that is my dear departed 2006 Road Glide, and yes it was in Yosemite. My favourite place on the planet. I've probably been to Yosemite 100 times. I've spent the night on top of Half Dome a couple of times. It's quite the hike....
I have a 2011 RG Ultra now, but by the time I got it and cleared the cobwebs from my brain well enough (post-wreck concussion), Glacier Point Road was closed by snow. I'm hoping to get up there in April or May with the new bike.
sounds good.. didn't realise you are allowed to camp up there .. hope you're fully recovered. what happened?
have sent you visitor message in attempt to try sending private message but still working on that one .. can't figure out why can't send them
