Took a ride to one the local dealers yesterday to ask for some type of sponsorship. Owner wasn't there and is out of town.

The sales Manager whom I know and have a good relationship with said he will pitch it for me. Hope I can get some kind of support from him. Even a set of tires would help. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I tired last year with no luck but I'm thinking with the MOCO as a sponsor now he may be more willing to help me out. I think allot of people last year stayed away from it because of all the bad publicity it was getting in the print media, blogs, and forums like this one.

Default I'm feelin pretty special!

The winner of the 1st Hoka Hey Challenge made a very generous contribution to my Hoka Hey fund raising page, as did another member of this forum. Others have as well and I deeply appreciate them taking the time and contributing. All give me my motivation but the winner of the 1st kicking in really lights the fires for me!

is there a link to your fundraising page? did i miss it first time around?

i would love to do a ride like this, but time constraints and budget constraints kill it for me. like others, can't take the time off work to do it, without losing the job and then having no money

i might be able to make it to new orleans to wave at ya, thats only 4-5 hrs away.... who knows, the route might have you passing even closer to here.... will have to wait and see.

also looking forward to your written account. thought last years was great. good luck with the sponsorship, and the documentary.....

I believe that linking to a page to solicit funds is a violation of the forum rules as well as soliciting in a thread.....At least that's the way I read it.

I am going to get a PDA (or whatever those things are called) and plan on posting updates albeit short one's here everyday so I'll let everyone know approx where we are heading. I'm very lucky in that the company I work for is pretty cool about letting me take time off. I don't get paid while I'm off but still appreciate them giving me the opportunity to do something like this. I don't know if it has anything to with the fact that half the top Management rides or not.
