I would have to agree and suggest you check the cam tensioners, I recently checked my 04 EGC at 25000 miles and they looked good, however, there are those that failed with less miles. It requires a little work but can give you peace of mind.. enjoy your new ride, it sounds like a good deal..

You have to pull the cover and inspect them. If they are worn you will want to upgrade to the hydraulic tensioners like in the new bikes or gear drives. The hydraulic ones are about $450 for the kit and maybe $400 for labor. But do not snooze on the inspection. If you DIY the gasket is about $8. You'll have to drop the front pipe and floorboard to get at it too. Use a cheap dental mirror to loot at the inside one. If youare having this done you may also wish to upgrade the cam bearings to Torringtons while in there.

BTW, that is a sweet bike for $8500
