The sun was shining and the roads were dry and salt-free, so I took the year's first ride today. Rode about 55 miles. Got a couple thumbs up from cagers who I assume were riders. Got some strange looks, too. It might have been the goofy grin on my face or the fact that I was riding in 30-degree temps. Didn't matter. After 4.5 months of downtime, I was in the wind again.
Y'all who can ride year round probably can't relate to my enthusiasm. Suffice to say the year's first ride is like having sex for the first time....sex with your pants on, that is.
CW....snow gone in Mass??? Still buried here in Southern Maine..... Buddy of mine is riding to Vegas, leaving Friday... he is hoping to ride out and just stay on slabs the first day until he gets South enough to have good roads... he's thinking making Virginia the first night....raining like hell right now...

Hey Geoff, I see you're from Illinois. This is a long shot, but while the wife and I were out walking the dogs today a couple guys rode by (Debbie lane in MP)? Was that you?
It really made me wish that my bike wasn't in the garage and partially taken apart on such a good day for riding.

Not me. I'm in Naperville.
What's ironic is I have a relative who lives on Robin Lane in MP. He doesn't ride, however.

Oh Well, I knew it was a long shot.
But guess what, my daughter goes to college in Naperville, it's a great city. We love going to visit her and doing the "River Walk" and eating at Portillo's.
