hi all! im new to this site, and would not only like to say hey to all, but ask a question.
i would love to become a harley mechanic, but i live in the uk, and have no idea how to get started on this! i know no-one i can ask, and have no referance pages that i can find online, so imhoping someone on here can help.

It appears that UTI is the overarching body for MMI training (Phoenix and Orlando campus').
You might also wish to search here for previous threads within the subject matter. I have seen more than a few suggesting it's not all beer and skittles however.
Good luck and really think it through before you put your hard earned money on the line...
Check with your local dealers to see what the service guys there in the UK do. They may have some program in the UK that you can attend which I would imagine might save you some $$$.
Are you doing mechanical work now? I ask because it is easy to get hooked on an idea that is not realistic. If you want to do something as a career, it should be something you have passion about. The person I want for my mechanic is the one who can't stop themselves from working on bikes not the one who went to school cause they thought it would be cool.

What are you his ****ing career advisor? He's not saying he's gonna work on your bike and who cares what his motives are behind doing it? The man simply wants some advice on where to go to get him started on becoming a Harley mechanic.
I always try to avoid making money at something I like to do. I've thought many times that I'd like to be a big game guide. Well, there goes my hunting season. Or I wanted to be a bike mechanic. Well, there goes a lot of my riding time. Etc..
If you have a passion, keep it a hobby. It'll remain a passion that way.

You dont mention your age or if you are already trained to any point as a mechanic/technician! .... I have seen courses advertised in American bike mags but that is not going to help you here in England .... All the tech's i know did not go on any Harley specific training course they applied as a skilled mec/tec and having secured the job were then sent on Harley specific programmes to get the relevant skill and training these were at the dealers own expense ..... Good luck
