I guess I'm kinda old school; if I order something,and have it installed,and it doesn't turn out teh way I like, it's my fault.
For example, I ordered some fairing for a SV1000, but it turns out tehy don't fit a SV650. My bad, I dumped the fairing for my loss, because it was my fault for not doing further research and ordering the wrong part.
I purchased a Screaming Eagle Street Performance Tuner VCI module. I took it to my dealer to have my bike dyno. My dealer called and said it was the wrong one. My bike is a 2011 RKC. I put on a screaming eagle air cleaner, Vance and Hines headers, Supper Trapp kerker mufflers. The dealer I go to said the other sc module would be better and that I would see better performance out of the other module. The service person told me that the mechanic had opened the box. I emailed Zanotti and told them what happend and gave them the dealers name and the mechanic. Zanotti reply was to send it back and I would have to pay a restocking fee. I send it back and Zanotti said it was covered in grease and it looked like it had been used. I sent them reply and told them I looked at it and it was in brand new condition and the box did not have any grease on it at all. So the same person that replied to all of the email first email has been the same person replying to my emails. And sent them there replies but they are sending it back to me. So thats is a 280 dollar headache. So the HD dealer I go to has cost me more money.
Did you order HD-41000008? I don't know how you could of ordered the wrong part they are for: Fits '07-later EFI XL, XR, DynaŽ, SoftailŽ and Touring models (except Trike).
1st, you didn't do your proper due diligence, and ordered the wrong part.
2nd, you made the mistake of buying a part and then having someone else install it.
3rd, you let your mechanic open and soil the new (wrong) part.
4th, you made the mistake of trying to besmirch the reputation of a dependable and well regarded source.
5th, you tried to absolve yourself from all blame by trying to deflect it onto an honest seller..
Just man up and resell it here or on eBay.

I have bought, and will continue to buy stuff from them. They always send me the parts that I order hassle free. I simply double check and make sure that its the right part before I order them.
Like I said in my earlier post, Zanottis parts dept is very good at what they do. As stated in others posts, you need to place a large order to help offset the shipping cost and thats how I do it. I make a list and usually revise that list a few times as the wish list grows. If I am planning some major mods on a bike then I put together the parts needed as best I can and place a large order. I only order BIG from Zanottis and some items I would NEVER order over the internet because I want to inspect the parts, I want to touch them and look them over closely before I make the purchase. Such items as windshields and other creature comfort items. I purchase the majority of small and single item parts from my local dealer because I am a chapter member there and the dealership does alot for the chapter. But, money is money and when its a big ticket purchase, I put together the well thought order and save some money using Zanottis. Last order I placed arrived just today from Zanottis, in total saved almost $400 over what it would have cost from the local dealer.
