Donnie Petersen in the April American Iron magazine says that if the battery is low, the ecm won't fire the spark plugs. Like others, if you need to run it 5-10 minutes, crank the bike and let it run some anyway.

All of the small compressors instructions that I've seen state that it should not be ran longer than 5 minutes at a time.

Ditch the compressor and carry Co2 Cartridges. Pick them Up at your local Bicycle shop. Takes up less room. Been using them for years. On and Offroad.

Back to the original question,,,,If your home ,,go ahead and run the little air pump with out the bike running,,,but if your far from help like bum f**ked Egypt,,,keep the bike running,,,won't hurt a thing,,,and you won't add to your troubles,,,just makes good sense,,,
