Got a friend that makes parts from motorcycles. He posted this about some mufflers that was for sale cheap.
I'm a little late to this party (what else is new) but thought I'd weigh in on these mufflers. Actually I have nothing to add about the mufflers, but plenty to say about V-Twin Manufacturing (AKA Tedds Cycle). Instead of "Manufacturing" they are better known for knocking off products without regard for the original inventor or owner. They stole designs from CD and have even knocked off some of my products. Little if any of their products are original, they take products made by others and knock them off over in Taiwan.
To read more about these thieves and one of the many active boycotts involving manufacturers who have been wronged visit:
Not surprising. I put on a set of repro hard bags a couple weeks ago, and as I was pulling them out of the box saw the "Made in Taiwan". Pissed me off, but put them on anyway. Couple days later, the left lid starts coming off by itself. Turns out the cabinet lock is drilled off-kilter, and the latch isn't curved to tighten as it's locked.
It's bandaid solution for now, but I've learned not to buy from them. This only adds to it. Thanks for posting.
Thanks for the heads up. It really annoys me when cheap knockoffs are made overseas, and you really don't save much, when you consider the poor quality and more frequent replacement. It really annoys me when they say, "Yes it's imported but it's engineered to American standards". Probably BS and doesn't give my neighbors a job.
