Batwings are GREAT! When the temps are cooler, my hands...being behind the fairing stay much warmer.

Guess I'm not ready yet.I just don't think any of the touring bikes were meant for me.I thuough I wanted one but after renting a couple just don't care for the ride.Guess that's why they make different models Traveler.I really did like your sportster.I'm 57 and still got to much hot rod in me.I do 3-400 mile days on the Train and still want more.

I agree with you on being spoiled by a bagger, but I have found that any bike I like well enough to test ride, I want it afterwards.
When they had the national Harley rally here, I rode a Screaming Eagle softail springer which I loved too. Wanted it bad...then a local dealer put on a little cycle days here and I rode both a Street Glide and a Road Glide and damn I loved the RG. So that will probably be my next bike but I will always keep the little hot rod I have now.

We all be different.
I tested a 09RK and have ridden my sons 10 StreetGlide,
Didn't care for or even like the RK, though I do like the StreetGlide, our Heritage is still in the garage and will be for a long time. And its not because I can afford a new one. just love what we have.

That is exactly how I got mine. We even had the top of the line touring bike from Yamaha, the Royal Star. Test rode the Ultra and was amazed how much better it was. Bought one within a week.

Funny, going from my '03 FXST with the mini-apes to the '07 Fat boy with the shield was an eye opener for me. I'll settle in on the Boy for a while...

With the change in construction of the bike in 2009 there is a big difference in handling and ride. Brother had an 07 FLHTC and when in Denver rented a 10 FLHTCU and when the 11 came out ran out to get a new one. I road his and there is a lot of difference in ride.
