A couple of years ago, I did a solo ride from Santa Cruz down highway's 25 and 33 the back way to Ojai for the sole purpose of eating (and drinking) at the Deer Lodge and Cold Springs Tavern. Traveled light, with only a tooth brush and rolled up shirt in my handlebar bag, for the overnight run. Food was great a both places and it was a really good trip. On the way back, headed for highway 1 at Morro Bay and rode the coast route back through Big Sur and on home.
Your pictures reminded me of that trip, and how I need to do it again later this spring or early summer. Thanks for posting!
