I went to Santa Ana today to pick up my new Danny Gray solo big seat for my Roadking and he happened to be there. Pretty cool guy. We talked for about 20 minutes. Found out he lives in Deadwood SD owns the Deadwood Roadhouse, and fly's to California to work. I think I might try to make next years vacation there and ride through the black hills with the wife. Really nice seat drops you down an inch or so, and is really firm, gonna take some breaking in I think. Sherry the girl at the front desk was so helpful I could not believe it. She insisted I bring my bike in the shop to try out few different seats before settling on the big seat. What a gal, she did not want to have me standing in the hot sun outside while I tried them out. They have a warehouse size upholstery shop that puts out a few hundred seats a day, & Sherry stopped to take care of me. As you can tell I am very impressed. I also found out they are one of the shops that make the Harley after market seats like the Brawler, which by the way does not compare with the D/G big seat. Any way I read so much negative stuff here that I thought I would share a feel good experience with every one. One more thing and I'll end this long post. These really are made in America, I saw it first hand. I tried to post some pics but I can't figure it out. I guess I'll have to spend some time & learn how again. When I do I'll post them.
i have a customized Danny Grey big seat, had it a few weeks now, not many rides yet, it is firm, so far i'm pleased with it, but only time and longer rides will tell the true story, workman ship is impressive
I have a DG buttcrack solo on my SG and couldn't be happier. It took some breaking in, but the last few trips (last one about 5000km in 6 days) were nothing but a pleasure. And the bike looks REALLY GOOD!
Never met the guy, but he produced the best seat I've ever had. I'm a long time Mustang lover, but the Danny Gray I put on my RK is hands down the best seat I've ever sat on. It's well made, good looking, and comfortable no matter how long the ride may be.
