Do you guys like us sportbike riders? seems like when I waive to them they wont wave back! is it just me or is this because of the bike being rode?
There are jerks that ride harleys, jerks on sport bikes. I've had the same thing happen to me when I wave at a sport bike. There are also people who don't wave for a variety of other reasons, besides being a jerk; e.g. they are zoned out, turning, think waving is stupid, etc.
I think a lot of people on harleys associate sportbikers with stupid dangerous riding styles. Maybe that's why you are perceiving some sort of disdain from the harley crowd. I used to have a ZRX 1200, so I know that not everyone on a sport bike is an idiot squid.
There are quite a few ex-bike sport bikers that ride harleys. Some harley riders stll ride sportbikes. I like all motorcycles pretty much, except for goldwings...I generally wave at everyone (even the goldwings).
I understand that not all don't but the few outthere that don't (although i find many) what is your reason not to ? i actually feel some kind of hatred, so to all who don't,..why is it?
The snobbery that we all experience cuts both ways, from "biker" guys on Harleys to the leather-clad squids on the sportbikes. As far as I'm concerned, we are all part of a pretty small transportation minority and time is too short to play games. If someone acts like a jerkoff/a$$hole then okay, maybe he is. It doesn't mean that everyone on a Harley, Yammy or Honda is in the same class.
I try to wave to anyone on a bike, whether they wave back or not is their problem. How often do you see Toyota or Chevy drivers waving to each other? Never.
