Sorry to hear it Dope_man. Your driveway is like a big bike obstacle course to begin with. Small turn around area, gravel, and now you've added the ramp... it was just a matter of time. You should leave the shed door open from now on and when you come home, ride straight into the shed.

Never good to hear rider(s) dumping their bikes...sounds like you didn't strain back lifting that monster upright & the good thing is it'll get fixed. If I had some SharkNose parts to offier - would definitely give them up.

You should be able to get everything you need on eBay. There are some salvage dealers that have their phone numbers on there for you to call about parts. Good luck.

Oh, but that HEAVY PIG did pin me under it, I have a deep muscle bruise all of the way around my hip. I am planning on getting out today and washing it and check it out closer.

Yea we squared the shed to the house and was not thinking about the ramp being offset to the driveway. I would just leave the doors open, BUT I don't trust the people in this neighbor hood that well, and I would hate to have to kill one or two, or ten them.

I actually had to lift the rear of the bike and so called spin it around on the ground to get the bike far enough away from the ramp to right it, by then I was pretty much done.

I have wondered if it would be worth the trouble to call my insurance agent and fill a claim, BUT with my luck with my $500 deductible the total damage would probably by less than it would be worth.

My first thought was if you had called insurance. Think about getting a repair estimate from your dealer and make sure he includes in the estimate the labor cost, that will let you know if calling your insurance makes sense. Even a small spill can add up in cost real damn fast.

Whatever you do I suggest changing your deductible to $100. I recently did and the cost was minimal.

Hope you get her fixed up quick however you do it.

Sorry to read about your ooops. I recently read "If you lose, don't lose the lesson". Rub some Arnica cream on your bruises while you are sourcing your bike replacement parts.
When hubby designed the loading system for our pick up, he installed rubber on plywood to assure non slip footing in the truck bed. Bought boxes of the squares from hardware store, would be an easy assembly on your ramp also.

Keep dreaming...how do you get it past the chock???...just sayin'.

OP - Sorry to hear about your oops. Just an excuse to upgrade is all!

That's easy.

you could have your platform on tracks or rollers, and not have to drive off it.
your bike doesn't have to be pulled up straight (front wheel towards the door). You could pull paralleled to the wall, and then just back it out of the chock when you get it inside the shed or garage.

I am sure there are other ideas. More than one way to skin a cat.

My bike's so old when I drop it most of the time I don't even clean it off once I get it up, just touch up any bare metal with rust preventive black spray paint. And that gents, is why you should build your own bike out of spare parts. The end.
Dude
All bikes are nice bikes. I actually envy you because you can put such a big tire on the back....and I can not

Your bike is sweet, and I bet it is a kick in the pants to ride

I put mine down in the wet grass before also. I rode to work with bent handlebars.
