Oh, but that HEAVY PIG did pin me under it, I have a deep muscle bruise all of the way around my hip. I am planning on getting out today and washing it and check it out closer.
Yea we squared the shed to the house and was not thinking about the ramp being offset to the driveway. I would just leave the doors open, BUT I don't trust the people in this neighbor hood that well, and I would hate to have to kill one or two, or ten them.
I actually had to lift the rear of the bike and so called spin it around on the ground to get the bike far enough away from the ramp to right it, by then I was pretty much done.
I have wondered if it would be worth the trouble to call my insurance agent and fill a claim, BUT with my luck with my $500 deductible the total damage would probably by less than it would be worth.
I promise you that you are over $500. Just a handle bar change will likely cost you that with labor. Is the Fairing cracked? That is big money.
It is a brand new bike, right? No reason to skimp.
Dude
All bikes are nice bikes. I actually envy you because you can put such a big tire on the back....and I can not
Your bike is sweet, and I bet it is a kick in the pants to ride
'Preciate ya. Believe it or not that's only a 180, it just looks big because there's no rear fender, because I haven't figured out how I'm going to rig that fat bob fender. And my bike is ugly but it's nasty once it's running, they don't make engines like this one anymore.
I would paint the ramp with sand paint! You can make your own, or
buy it already sanded. They make ceiling paint with sand in it too..
Sorry to hear of your incident, we all do something like that sooner or later.. I would have been BS!!
Hey dope_man keep checking the classifieds on here, I was able to get all my replacement parts after my spill. The advice to use Arnica cream is also good. I bruised my left hip and could barely walk and the wife kept putting it on it and before I knew it the hurt was gone, the dis-colorization was another story.
I'll tell you what, I'm looking at the bikes in y'alls sigs and I do believe if I dropped one of them nice *** bikes in the mud or off a ramp or off a cliff or whatever shenanigans y'all are up to, I might cry a little. My bike's so old when I drop it most of the time I don't even clean it off once I get it up, just touch up any bare metal with rust preventive black spray paint. And that gents, is why you should build your own bike out of spare parts. The end.
I'm with you on that. I've been seriously considering painting my bike with truck bed liner. I'm freakin tired of touching up scratches and stone chips.
Saw a bike that was painted with truck bed liner. It actually looked pretty cool.
To the OP, I too have to ride up into a shed. After two years of "lucking out" and getting in and out with a one-foot wide ramp, I decided to take the luck factor out of the equation by widening the ramp to 3 feet. I feel much better now especially when backing the bike out of the shed each time.
That sucks so bad! I dropped my bike the first time I put it in gear, so embarrassing. Dumped it in front of the driveway of my house, and fell on my butt and gave myself a giant bruise to that and my ego. I go to pick it up and examine the damage and the thing dies... Turns out I forgot to turn the gas on to boot. Talk about embarrassing. Plus I had to push it up the driveway by myself because it wouldn't start back up. After all that, I was still determined to ride it and got it started and rode up and down the neighborhood. Everyone stared. :-/

I had already thought about painting it ans using sand as a grip, but have not yet gotten around to it.

My ramp is 16 foot long and 4 foot wide (basic ramp built to handicap specs, 1 foot long for every inch of rise), I was trying to get the bike straight on the ramp and just misjudged where the front tire was or how close it was to the edge. I am also going to look at putting a rail on each side kinda like a bumper, but after I get use to the new bike it will not be needed.

Good Luck
I Have a member here checking on shipping his stock bars to me, I already did not like the mirrors and have another set, I think (HOPE) that the levers are the only other thing I need.
I didn't have any time today to even go out and look at it, the baby had me awake until after 5am, and since I work nights I let the better half go to bed when his sleep cycle gets messed up and I am off, and as you see by the time on this post I am still awake tonight, because he is refusing to sleep.
