I think the mounting is different.

The mounting brackets for the Softail attach at the lower rear of the frame.

This is due to the difference in the rubber mount vs. counterbalanced motor. If you try to mix and match, the chances are high that something will break on the bike. If you are pretty good with a welder, you might be able to modify it yourself.

It might work depending on the mounting bracket. I have a Supertrapp 2 into 1 on my Fatboy and it came off a guys Dyna. It just mounts on the transmission bolts instead of the rear frame. It bolted right on with no problem. You just don't use the stock mount on the rear frame. You use the mount that comes with it that bolts to transmission instead.

When you order one from Supertrapp, they sell you the same one for a Dyna or a Softail.

there is a guy running this exact same setup. if you advance search in the dyna section for thunderheader, he has posted in a few of the top threads, and may have even done a thread with the work around...

but yes it can and has been done!!!

enough time and $$$$ U can make anything work..

but its alway easier to buy items made to fit to began with.

Usually just a simple call to the factory and there Techs will tell U in a couple minutes.

He's right. I have a Dyna and a Thunderheader. My girlfriend has a softail and a thunderheader. Definitely different mounting.
