I have the JVC earbuds and they stay in great with the beanie..but have ear problems so am getting helmet speakers for the 1/2 helmet with ear covers?? flaps?? whatever you call them...

Wanted a cheap pair just to see if I would like riding with them. Picked up a pair of Skull candy ink'd, put on the smallest tips, shoved em in my ears and rode. I like them, but they are not the best. They do stay in my ear pretty well, but I wear them so much now that I think I am ready to move up a notch. Just waiting to pull the trigger because I don't want to put $$ into something that wont stay in my ear while riding!

I have a pair of skullcandy smokin buds. it has the inline volume control. had for over 2 yrs and no problems yet. found them on internet for 16$ and free ship

Like others have said i wear the JVC marshmellows and they're really good for the price. Much less wind noise than I get from other earbuds. But as somebody mentioned if you get them in your ear real tight and crank up the volume you'll have a tough time even hearing sirens. The sound is pretty good though.
