I got a ticket going with the flow of traffic once. I mentioned this to the officer very politely that I was going with the flow of traffic.
He responed ; if 5 ducks flew by while he was hunting all he could get was one. I told him very politely that he must have a slow trigger finger. He didn't understand the jockularity and I paid the ticket.

In CA you can do a "trial by written declaration" The info will be on the back of the bail notice you get in the mail. Stretch out the time to the max return date, the LEO must submit a rebuttal and a judge will decide. Good thing about the TWD is that even if found guilty you can go to court to fight it. You are banking on time passage (about 3 months) to cloud the memory of the LEO. I have beat tickets this way.

It is presumptuous to expect anyone in LE to help you beat this. You have the option of traffic school, I believe.

oh I know all the tricks, Trial by declaration (got off many times) taffic school.. hell last ticket I had I got about 14+ months of delays and reschedules so by the time I took traffic school it was out of the system 4 months later. I'm not a huge ticket getter, and have zero points on my record... just always looking for an angle to better my chance of getting out of it. I'll file for a few extensions before I file for a TBD, then an extension on that, ect...

as for depending on ANY leo forgetting what happened, I'd say about 99% of them take notes on every citation.

Being a retarded, I mean retired, LEO of 29 glorious, wonderful years, (anyone denote slight sarcasm?) I have a few comments..,,1st,,a quick DL check on the police computer tells how many times you've been written,,and as you've admitted,"got off many times", its apparent you have a prob with traffic laws..2nd..80/65,,what did you expect when they're looking at your history.3rd,,I just love hearing people who get caught doing something that they know is wrong and the first thing they want to do is, "look for another angle to better their chance of getting out of it."..I've told alot of people who are looking for a way to avoid paying tickets, "Look how many times you've committed violations and never got caught. You're money ahead." The laws are in place for a reason. Accept responsibility, pay the fine, and move on. It's less costly to flow w/the system than it is to buck it.,,and yes I used to make notations on the ticket to refresh my memory in case I went to court. Sorry about telling you all this,,but you asked.,,Good luck

Why not just drive the speed limit and eliminate the hassle? Seems simple enough...

don't get me started on how complicated this actually is.

apparently, according to a few LEOs on this forum...

you will get pulled over and ticketed for speeding.

you will also get pulled over and ticketed for driving under the speed limit as you're either a hazard on the road, or you're probably drunk because all drunks drive below the limit.

so please, next time you get in your car or on your bike, make sure you know the speed limit of the road you're on...you must do exactly that speed and only that speed, until the limit changes, of course, in which case you must adapt accordingly.

Yup, there is a nice little box on the back of their copy for just that purpose.
Besides if it's their day off they overtime(some cities, minimum 3 hrs) for being at court whether they are there 30 seconds or longer.

Oh yeah, while traffic school may keep it off your drivers record, you insurance company has access and "WILL" find out and may adjust your rates accordingly.
