Being a retarded, I mean retired, LEO of 29 glorious, wonderful years, (anyone denote slight sarcasm?) I have a few comments..,,1st,,a quick DL check on the police computer tells how many times you've been written,,and as you've admitted,"got off many times", its apparent you have a prob with traffic laws..2nd..80/65,,what did you expect when they're looking at your history.3rd,,I just love hearing people who get caught doing something that they know is wrong and the first thing they want to do is, "look for another angle to better their chance of getting out of it."..I've told alot of people who are looking for a way to avoid paying tickets, "Look how many times you've committed violations and never got caught. You're money ahead." The laws are in place for a reason. Accept responsibility, pay the fine, and move on. It's less costly to flow w/the system than it is to buck it.,,and yes I used to make notations on the ticket to refresh my memory in case I went to court. Sorry about telling you all this,,but you asked.,,Good luck
I agree. Man up and pay the ticket and slow down. It's amazing the time and energy spent on fighting tickets some folks go through. There may the odd occasion where fighting a real C.S. ticket is warranted but 15 mph over (by your own admission) isn't C.S. (chicken sh&t) But hey, maybe you have lots of spare time for this stuff so go for it.
You can try but the Officer could just admend the citation or convience the judge that the mistake is one they consider "informal" which means your identity is not is question. But.....do the crime...pay for fine!
I got a ticket going with the flow of traffic once. I mentioned this to the officer very politely that I was going with the flow of traffic.
He responed ; if 5 ducks flew by while he was hunting all he could get was one. I told him very politely that he must have a slow trigger finger. He didn't understand the jockularity and I paid the ticket.
teamster
That's not only a great, quick witted come back but it's even funnier he didn't get it.
You can request to see all of the leo's certificates, IE certified to drive the cruiser, certified to use the radar and if the radar itself was currently certified, if she used radar. If anything of her certifications was expired when she wrote the ticket, they will send you a notice that the case has been dismissed. If she up on all her cert's then you will see her in court.
you were in the wrong...pay the ticket and ask for deferred adjudication so it does not go on your record. you were not singled out or discriminated against...you broke the law and need to own up to the fact. you are creating bad-will for the vast majority of law abiding motorcyclists.
stop beating around the bush hdgzr and tell us how you really feel haha.
I love it. You know, I've had my share of speeding tickets when I was younger...and lost my license, paid fines, lost insurance coverage, lost my vehicle and lost employment because of them. It's just not worth it anymore.
Having the mindset of going with the flow of traffic is understandable; I commute into the city daily, I get it. But I also notice when the LEO gets one or two out of the "flow of traffic", generally the pack slows down to around the posted speed limit. The OP was willing to assume the risk of speeding; it was his day to get caught and be made an example. Send in the fine and roll on.

Do you really want to be the criminal who got free on a technicality? We hate that when a bad guy gets free because some one signs the warrant on the wrong line etc. If you did it. PAY.
