Adjusting to a new Ultra C right now... only have about 800 miles on it. It's a different feeling than when on my modded Deuce that I traded.
Speaking from all the miles on my Deuce: I almost always felt like a million bucks riding that thing. It just had soooo much personality. Really wish I could have kept it, too.
I traded in my V-Star for a RKC a couple weeks ago and I must admit, I feel a lot different when riding it. I think a Harley commands respect and I think people that don't ride anything also respect a Harley. There's just something about them.
BearNVA,
I know EXACTLY what you are talking about..
After twenty years wanting a Harley Davidson, three weeks ago I bought a black denim FUGLY/sharknose Road Glide and I couldn't be more pleased! It just feels "right", unlike anything else I have experienced with my clothes on... haha
Just going from a buzz saw sport bike to a high torque ground thumping v-twin of any brand would make me feel better. 2 completely different sensations regardless of brand. Glad you're enjoying!
Hey BearNVA, congrats on the ride. Just a question:
What was your opinion of Harleys before you rode one?
Also, what part of Va? I go riding up around Floyd all the time.
1) Well to be honest before I rode one my opinion was that they were slow and didn't really handle well. I'm kind of an aggressive rider and didn't really think those bikes were for me but now that I'm older it is the perfect mix of performance and relaxation.... I can lay back, throw my legs up and the power/handling is still there! Granted I can't knee drag on a Fat Boy but everything else makes up for that.
2) I'm in Norfolk, Va which is on the coast in the Hampton Roads area about 10 miles from Virginia Beach.
