RE: H.D. made in China.? Honda made in U.S.A. ? -Explain
Damn, 84% of the parts including engines used in the Gold Wing and Honda's 4 big cruisers are manufactured in the USA. Engines are manufactured in Anna,OH. about 60 miles northwest of Marysville. Who'd a thunk it.[sm=biker2.gif]
RE: H.D. made in China.? Honda made in U.S.A. ? -Explain
I read an article a couple of years ago that cited the Honda Accord as the "most American made" car. It has more US parts, put together in a US factory by US auto workers... than any other "domestic" car.
On the flip side, my Trans Am was built alongside the Camaro... In St. Therese, Canada. Ain't that some $#!^.
RE: H.D. made in China.? Honda made in U.S.A. ? -Explain
I think for most its not where its made in this world global economy we live in as much as riding what we like. I've had many different kinds of bikes including numerous Hondas. But for me, my Harley fits the bill. And IMHO it doesn't matter what brand one rides as longs as u bees in da wind my bro.

Well, my Subaru was made in Indiana but my wife's Ford was made in Mexico. It's the global economy at work here. HD is doing what everyone has to do to in today's business environment. What has not and I hope will never change is that HD has always been an American owned company.

Hmm...maybe that's why the 07's have soo many problems - it's where the parts were made?
Nice try Doc, they've been doing it a lot longer than the 07 models. However, it's not Japan, it's China and Taiwan (cheaper labor).
Well spoken Ozark, a Harley is still a Harley, it's designed in the US, a majority of OEM parts on the bike are still made in North America and all assembly is done in the US. Harley is definitely an American icon and always will be. Because of the Global Market, bikes are manufactured with pieces from dozens of different countries.......so ride it because you like it, not because of where it was made.

Ditto to that. I ride a Harley now (96 Fatboy) and love it. Prior to this I rode a 200 Shadow Sabre and loved it as well. Both bikes have something to offer. The Honda (stock 1100) had a nice ride and power, BUT A HARLEY IS A HARLEY and looks and sounds great! I like both.

The German economy went bad some 30 years ago and the Germans closed a volkswagan plant here in America just for the purpose of getting those jobs back in Germany. I have two Harley leather jackets bought from the dealer. I had to cut the labels out because it said made in China! It suxs!
