OP, they still will not see you. I am not optimistic that anything will save your bike from the blind, stupid, or inattentive. I park to my advantage or I don't park there.
I park away from everyone. I also make sure I am face out in a parking spot and make sure I keep to the front of the spot rather then pulled all the way back.
I can't remember where I saw it, but just recently I saw an ad or something for such a device. I was a telescoping rod like an antenna I think about 5' long, that had a flag or something on the end and a baseplate. You just set it beside your bike When you leave, it just telescopes together and would fit in your saddle bag.
If I run accross it again, I'll post it.

Ok, I was mistaken, it was a device to help you pick up your jiffy stand coaster, but it could help for visibility too, with a little modification.

When ever I find my self in a very populated area, and looking for a place to park.I just pull this from my saddlebag, inflate her with my exhaust..and there you have it..
You have an inflatable flagger lady in your SB? I could say something but I'd probably get in trouble. LOL
Seriously - for a device to work someone would have to actually LOOK in their mirror before backing. Used to see it a lot at grocery store where people back out without looking and sometimes run over a car full of groceries someone is pushing through the lot. stupid is stupid does.
I like that idea. Think I'll make one for my bike. Not because of visibility but because I'm gettin to damn old and fat to be leaning over to put down or pick up a jiffy stand pad anymore.
I'm thinkin just take the pad I've got now, attach one of those telescoping magnetic pick up tools that you can buy at any auto parts store to the pad using one of those swivel deals that they have for pens on desk sets and good to go.

After some more thought about this whilst sitting on the chitter, I decided I'll just tie a string to my jiffy stand pad and put a loop on the end of the string so I can hang it off of my grip..............Ya, that's the ticket.
