Default Shipping a Harley???

If a person wants to get a motorcycle from point A to point B in the US without riding it there or without pulling it on a trailer, what type of reasonable shipping options are there?

For example, could a person take a bike to the local Harley dealer near point A and have them ship it to a Harley dealer near point B, then pick up the bike at the Harley dealer at point B?

Thanks for any info.

I used Federal Transport two years ago, shipped my bike from the west coast to east. Really painless process, they also offered an AMA or HOG discount.

Would definitely use them again. Very professional, received bike under the quoted delivery time and without a scratch. They are also recommended on Harley's website.

I remember looking into this a little about 10 years ago when I was thinking of buying a bike off ebay. I'm sure there are others that know a bit more about this than me since I know next to nothing.

I know there are some shipping companies that ship bikes, some of the ones I recall looking at required you to build a crate for the bike that fit certain dimensions. You may have remove the bars too. Some of the pricier ones may have special crates already built for bikes. Basically you take the crated bike to the shipper and they ship it to one of their hub's near where you want it and then you or your recipiant are responsible for picking it up there.

Most HD Dealerships can ship from dealer to dealer a very reasonable rate.
PS: your bike travels in a factory crate.

Wouldn't do it with a bagger but I've shipped my bike air freight a couple times all over the country and it was cheaper than trucking companies & it wasn't bouncing all the country for 2 weeks without me .

keyboardmotorcycleshipping.com shipped mine from Texas to Indiana.
They were even picking up a bike from another resident in the area to ship to someone he sold his bike to.
Very reasonable and great service to boot.

I had a bike shipped from New York to Colorado, dealer to dealer, by Federal Motorcycle Transport 1-866-848-5089 www.funtransport.com. I believe they will go door to door if you want. I couldn't have the bike shipped to my house because it was too long to fit on the truck drop gate.

Check out uship.com. It's kind of like an EBay where you input where you put in the locations and people bid on your shipment. You just choose one of the bids if you find one you like.

I used ID Transport a few years back when I sold a bike on ebay. They picked up at my house and dropped off at the buyers house. No crate necessary. www.idtransport.com
