I will be going to the Hills in about 2 weeks to spend 4 days riding the area, then going back durring the Rally as well. Just not to ride, more like park and observe.
I'm going...a month early. Plan to hit the Black Hills, Sturgis, Deadwood, Devil's Tower, etc on my way home from Alaska. Expect to pass through around the week of July 4th. Love the area, but I have no interest in the corporate zoo the rally has become.

+1 For me, not that much fun anymore, way too many people. It's become an absolute cluster f*ck. As far as I'm concerned, the true spirit/jazz of Sturgis is gone.
I'm going. This will be the ninth time for me. I am bored with the I-80, I-35 and I-90 route. So this year I will go north into Canada across to pick up some more Provence's and come down from Canada on 45 (I think) to Spearfish.
As always I will stay at Elkview campgrounds.
I still enjoy going to see the progress at Crazy Horse and have the all you can eat Indian Tacos. Also doing Needles and Spearfish Canyon.
I find that in the evening, people watching in town is very interesting.
I don't do anything that a corporation owns and never have except if I need a do-dad at J&P. J&P is an outstanding vendor.
It's good for me, cause I don't get to see some of the cooler vendors the rest of the year, not that I'd really want to anyway, but...there's always something to buy and improve on for the glide as it's still a work in progress, and it's only 40 minutes away..
I am going with my new hubby on our bikes from MD. We are camping at the broken spoke. It is our honeymoon trip. I just want it to be time to go!!!!
Congratulations on getting hitched Liz. You'll enjoy Sturgis, lots of good rides around the area. Don't miss the Spearfish canyon and the ride through Needles in custer state park. My two favorites.
Me and my wife will be there as well, haven't booked anything, we'll figure it out when we get there. Really looking forward to it.

Hey Zeus, PM me your cell # if you want to get together up there for a minute and snap a pic of the bikes together.
