At first I was going to do the skull collection, as I seem to like Skulls in general. Opted for the Flame Grips and pegs...have chrome levers just had to have them...but that's just me
skulls are cool, so go with what ya like. you can get moco stuff @ 20% off via some of the aftermarket dealers like surdyke, m&m cycles so that will knock down the price a bit for you. good luck and let us know how it finishes out.
I realy like the Skull stuff. I would have gotten a lot of it but I might change my mind and not like it next month. So I stuck with the regular chrome and rubber parts instead.
gamma...... I decked my dyna out with 98% harley stuff,,,
the levers I got were from Kuryakin.... around $40 pr
chrome and have a little "Trigger" for index finger
best on the market... check them out.
I like being loyal to HD also,,,, but sometimes its not the best quality
still made overseas,,, some of it
Skulls thing is a fad. Stick with the basic classy looking stuff (IMHO)
I don't think I'll add more. I'll just get the regular H-D chrome ones (clutch/brake levers). No cheap aftermarket parts on my bike.
A lot of the H-D aftermarket stuff is "cheap" having been made in China, Korea or other places. An H-D tag or box does NOT guarantee it's American, or well made. Other companies make quality H-D levers, and other parts that are often less expensive.
I enjoy seeing the heavily themed Skull or Flame bikes, but I'm not a skull guy, and flames are a little overdone. I have some "Nostalgic" floorboard inserts and brake pedal. And "Harley Davidson Motor Company" grips. I'm always on the lookout for derby, air cleaner, timer covers that are different. Maybe a patriotic, military, 9-11, Police/Sheriff, or Coast Guard theme......Have not decided yet.......I've only had the bike for 19 months....What's the rush! Between the tank emblem and tag (BLULINE), it's already got a little Law Enforcement theme going, but that's an easy shift over to a 9-11/emergency services/memorial theme. If you're a Firefighter, check out www.firemanjoes.com , they have some neat looking stuff.

Wow, that's kinda harsh no?
I have every piece of skull gear on my SG and I love the stuff. It has excellent contrast with the black inlays and the skull is nicely done and rated PG. And to be honest many of us think the skull gear IS classy, thats why it's on our rides.
It's cool that everyone has an idea of what they think looks good, but telling those of us that enjoy the skull gear that it isn't classy is kinda disrespectful don't ya think?
I mean I could offer my personal thoughts about that tank badge and those 80 spokes, but I know if they are on your bike they make your scooter personal to you and obviously you think they are the shizit.
Now leave my damn skulls alone you big bully....[sm=happybounce.gif]

Well yeah. But his bike does look nice. I thought about those levers myself but I tend to use four fingers on the clutch and the two in the middle fingers for the front brake so I don't think I would have benefited from the trigger. I read about it being the strongest finger but I didn't think I would have liked the partition between the index finger and the middle finger. I would have gotten used to it eventually
Skulls have been around for a long time. I also liked the flames but settled on the skulls because I like the fact that they say "Harley-Davidson Motorcycles" on them and the look of the chrome and black background. Hey! What can I say, I like them. I'm glad everyone doesn't because if they did, then they probably wouldn't appeal as much to me.
Skulls and motorcycles have been partners for a LONG time. The Outlaws and Hells Angels have used a variation of skulls on their colors since the mid 1940's I think. And their is some evidence that the idea came from former WW II Pilots who used variations of the skull for aircraft insignia. There is some interesting history on the Hells Angels and Outlaws M/C websites regarding this. I think the history regarding the connection between WWII Veterans and "Outlaw" motorcycle clubs is fascinating.
