Default Parts Manual

It's like an IPB( illustrated parts breakdown). Shows how things go together. Also gives grades of hardware and size info. Example: rear wheel pulley attach bolts part number 3873. If you look up the part number in the back of the manual under hardware listing, it says 3873 Bolt 7/16-14x2 1/2 (grade 8)

I understand the value of the service manual, but what does owning the parts manual do for me ?

Isn't there an online parts manual ? I used to look online for my Vstar 1100 if I needed to order stuff.
An IPC (illustrated parts catalog) is a great tool for a mechanic. It has expolded views of literally everything...Down to the last washer & nut.

When I worked on helicopters, the IPC was usually right next to the manual for any given job.
