Spamsoil is no better or worse than any other decent synthetic.

I've use a different brand for years, but no way would I go 7-8K between changes.

But hey, if it's your bike, and you wanna shill for a company, none of my business.

I agree, Amsoil is not better or worse that any decent synthetic oil. In no way did I mean to "shill" for Amsoil.

This post was more about extended drain intervals, which I'm not really comfortable with, but technically possible.

I guess MY final take would be, change at 5k and I have some extra protection if I run over.

Run what you like, but I agree that ~5K is the tops for me before I'm changing it and I run Amsoil. High ambient temperatures are a fact of life for me, and Amsoil performed fantastically, even when my engine temps exceeded 340 degrees for extended periods of time. Would other oils provide me equal protection? Perhaps, but I go with what I know.

Amsoil = snakeoil , you want to risk a $4000+ motor because of $30 worth of parts & oil ?

That's what Amsoil says, but without a guarantee to back it up I'm not willing to risk it. I'm gonna give MOCO the benefit of the doubt on this one and keep the oil change intervals at 5000 miles because after all, they're the ones who have to honor my warranty, not Amsoil.

You can run oil over intervals, if your miles are mostly highway. In the city, all bets are off. My advice, change it now, and break it in before making the Sturgis run. Cheap insurance for a really long road trip.

I was running amsoil in my bike until the 10000 svc. Had them put in Syn 3. Liked my bike better on Amsoil. Will change it soon. YMMV.

Amsoil claims 15 micron absolute efficiency.. I don't follow your samples..

Altho the Amsoil is pricey, I still change every 3k maybe 4, but for the most part 3k .... I change it and have the assurance that my life blood is clean and has the proper rating!

Been running Amsoil in everything we own for over 10 yrs, other than our everyday drivers which go the full year between changes, the rest, tractors, tillers, mowers,go at least 2 yrs.Compressors go even longer. All our equip runs top shelf all the time.It did take a long time to get used to letting oil changes go beyond 3000 miles, but we did and have saved an awful lot of money over the years.
