When its cold, dusty, or the bugs are really bad, I may use a regular black bandana.
When its really cold...I'll use a neoprene gator.

here is what i use when it's really cold. I asked the guy for a neck warmer and he showed me this hood., tucks inside your jacket so keeps the air out

Harley in Portland sells a leather covered fleece lined mask that has a velcro back that attaches behind your neck. Pull it up over your nose when its cold and lower it when its warmer. I looks good and is easy to use. Just looks like a black bandanna.
I also have hoods that are lightweight but warm to use if it gets colder. I toss them into the saddlebags, so far I have never had to use them. In the winter I will switch to my full face helmet if I expect to get into a lot of rain and serious colder weather.

I do wear a black fleece half mask that I got at Harley. Air holes for the mouth and a little thingie for my nose. I like it. Keeps me on the bike a little longer in the cold weather.

Get a lightweight balaclava hood, feels like velvet, works great with a half helmet. Most HD dealers carry them in the glove section.

When it gets below 60 I wear a half-face-mask with a 3/4 helmet w/face shield.
The face mask makes a huge difference.

Yep. Full helmet and a cross strap on my leather jacket collar (pulls the collars up and around my neck). Simple enough an warm as toast. Any good leather shop can build the strap which snaps to the collars.
A side benefit of the full helmet. The bike sounds BETTER when wearing it. Of course I will ONLY wear it if the temp gets below 50.
