Default Wheel shipping cost

Got a set of FXDC to sell but I'm wondering if shipping them would be cost prohibitive to the buyer, they are complete with tires, rotors and pulley which means they aren't so light and I figured I'd need to put each in a plywood box so they arrive in the same condition they leave here in which adds still more weight. Anyone have a clue what it costs, say coast to coast?

The weight and box size are the killer.Probly better to ship in two boxes.
Best thing to do is get the wheels boxed up then go get the quotes from UPS,USPS.

You should be able to ship the wheels for about $35.00 each at the most. I shipped mine in a good heavy cardboard box, plenty of bubble wrap, paper and then I braced each wheel at four point in the box so they wouldn't move around in the box. Check your local indy or HD dealer lots of time they will have some extra boxes that wheels came in.

Ya, I was planning to split them into seperate boxes - made from 1/2' plywood and sized so there is no movement so shouldn't need and packing other than to keep disc/pulley from rubbing.

Just beware if you sell them on ebay. The shipping calculator is not accurate. I sold some wheels with the rotor and tires and I took a hosing on the shipping because of ebay's bogus shipping calculator. Best to go right to the web sight of the shipper you are going to use.

Shipped my stock rear wheel for 50ish fedex from PA to CA. SHipped my front from PA to VA for 20ish. Both in the hogpro boxes my custom wheels came in. I did find opening an acct with fedex made it alot cheaper. Also fed ex was cheaper than ups according to their calculators...
