quick lube question -not motor oil related!

Suprisingly, the service manual doesn't mention anything about lubing the cables. That, or I am oblivious to it...
look in the maintenance chart: throttle, brake and clutch controls. lube, inspect every 5,000 miles.

make sure that you do or don't have teflon lined cables. that will make a difference. if you use an oil type lube, it won't be good for the cable.

Not too sound to clueless here, but how would you tell.. is it something obvious??

+1 on the Dri-Slide for the cables, Dr. V-Twin. Another good cable lube is Prolink, a bicycle chain lube that you can find at most bicycle shops. I've had really good luck with it.

I use Vaseline or KY Jel....oh wait;are we talkin' BIKES here??

use silicone spray,you really dont need to lube those things thou..not needed and it gets all over and makes a mess..pj1 makes a pretty good cable lube,the cables only need lubed when new or if you notice they are sticking..i was a tech for 13 years and maintenanced thousands of bikes
