Well worth a ride to another dealer, not matter how far. Don't bother telling them you messed with it. I know if it was my dealer, they would fix it under warranty. Why would they want to **** off a customer? It's not like they wont get paid for it...
Just curious as to what "primary issues" you are having?
My issues are that at high temp/high rmp it seems that my primary seems to knock into my case. I just got off the phone with the dealer and they said that they check everything and that it is good. The problem is that the only way to reenact the problem is to ride it for 30 min and then open the throttle quickly. So it is pretty much impossible to recreate in the shop. So if the dealer states that all the settings on the primary are correct, does anyone have any ideas. I have heard that the nut on the sprocket can come loose...but if this was true, wouldn't it always hit the case. I guess the only way to narrow it down would be to find out what changes on the bike once it comes to temp and the throttle is opened quickly. I also am looking at the hydraulic tensioner from SOHOT bikes....anyone have reviews?
Can't help you on the SOHOT tensioner, but definitely take bike to dealer for warranty work...when covered. Saves alot of headache - that's why you bought it. As far as taking to different dealer - probably too late because the 1st dealer logs maint on VIN so it'll be recorded...best to let HD fix problems while inder OEM coverage.
Did not install anything. Just adjusted it to the service manual settings and then got a slapping noise at high temp/high rmp. Took the cover off and saw that it was eating into the cover. Then tried to adjust it little by little to get the correct setting, well that didn't help, so i took it straight to the dealer. I though about putting the hydraulic tensioner from SOHOT bikes on it. Does anyone have any experience?
Be honest with your local dealer and explain what happen. A good dealer will help you, trust me on this one.
After reading some pretty good reviews about the adjuster from SOHOT I did purchase one for my 07 Road King..Before I installed it it seems that people were having trouble with the thing so it is sitting on my shelf never installed..PM me if you want it..
" I guess the only way to narrow it down would be to find out what changes on the bike once it comes to temp and the throttle is opened quickly. "
This would sound like a plan to me, did you suggest this to the dealer? I would. They are responsible to fix it afterall.
