THAT dealer has always treated me fantastic. I went over there in 07 and bought my Wide Glide because the Dealer that was in Spokane at the time just loved to jack up prices.........Maybe that is why they no longer exist.
Any dealer is better than that jack nut Shumate. I went all the way to Great Falls for my bike.
True. Just relaying when I searched and found numerous complaints about them from this forum. Thats why I stayed away.
Sometimes complaints about a dealer may come from another dealer or employees of another dealer, in this case maybe "Shumate". Thats why I try to judge for myself.
If your in the Spokane area be aware that "Lone Wolf" is opening on the 12th at their new location.

Why didn't you go to Owens in Yakima, or Legends in Wenatchee. They are a lot closer, unless you were looking for a rad trip. I've known Mike Shumate since high school and wouldn't buy from any of the three shops he had either.
Yeah I saw that they were combining the 2 stores into 1 over there in the Valley. I like Lone Wolf. I have taken my bike in there a couple times for some warranty work. Always real nice. I even bought a set of pegs there while waiting and the guy helped me for over a half hour explaining to me the different set ups I could go with. Even explaining to me that the more expensive ones were not always the best. Stand up people over at Lone Wolf

They didn't call me back or answer my email when getting quotes. I have stopped at Legends. Mark in the Service dept is a stand up guy.
Back to the original ? Just have the service done at a dealer when you hit the 1k. Most all are good about getting you right back on the road if you are traveling. And if you are in the Boise area, ride hwy 50 from Garden City to McCall. If you are in McCall early have breakfast at the pancake house (won't regret that) or later try Lardo's on the east side of town. Head to New Meadows, Riggins, Lewiston. Nice ride along the Salmon and Clearwater rivers. Then of course, Lolo pass.

Back to the OP, Lolo pass is a great ride, but then most anything in Western Montana is. There are several dealer where you can get your bike serviced depending on where you are going, among them, there are Great Falls and MT. Harley in both Missoula and Kalispell. Take your trip and when its time for service you can get it done on the road.
Yeah OP, sorry to hijack your thread. You can always make an appointment at a dealer along the way and have your first service done. 100 miles on either side of 1k will be fine. Would make a nice lunch break in the middle of the ride.
