Default Need help fabricating a fix

Ok all of you parts builders, fabricators and real men of genius.

I need help with a fix. Problem is my XM Radio mount. There is too much vibration which is causing it to jump out of its cradle. So I need something to keep it from doing just that.

What I need is something that I can mount here on the current XM mount.

What I am trying to achieve is filling in this gap so I can put industrial strenght velcro on the back of the XM receiver and to the front of whatever it is I use to fill in the gap.

Whatever it is it can be semi-permantly mounted as I have a second cradle to use so this one will be staying on. Just the receiver will be removed when not in use.

Any ideas???

This would be my first option; there is about a half inch of space on the bracket just above the mount . I'd drill a hole in the center of the aforementioned space, acquire a piece of bar stock aluminum, drill a hole in the bottom of it the same size as the one in the bracket, attach the bar to the bracket with a small bolt and wingnut (wingnut on the backside). Bend the bar in 90 degree bends so that it will hook over the top of the radio. When you want to remove the radio from the mount just loosen the wingnut and swing the bar out of the way or remove it alltogether.

Id say drill another hole on in the center of the mount. You can remove your XM to scew the hole in to hold the XM mount. Then the XM locks into the reciever part right? It cannot bounce out if I see it right.

So the screw will be just above the slid in part and holdig it down. Simple but functional
